I am Research Fellow at Nokia Bell Labs (Dublin, Ireland) in the Application Platforms & Software Systems Research Laboratory.
My current research focuses on Elastic Serverless Architectures, Container-Based Cloud Infrastructures, and Software Defined Networking.

In 2012 I got my Ph.D. in Telecommunication Engineering at the University of Genoa, working on Call Admission Control modelling and generalized Stochastic Knapsack. In 2013 I was at the Polytechnic Institute of New York University working on VMs migration. In 2014 and 2015 I worked at the University of Genoa on Software Defined Networking and Nanosatellite Communications.

Research

My current research interests are on Serverless Architectures and Container-Based Cloud Infrastructures (P1), with the focus to make such platforms highly elastic, efficient and self-adaptive. I am working also on online modelling and understanding of carrier-grade VM-Based Cloud Services.

I am interested on Software Defined Networking (SDN) and my research was focused on the problem of dynamically partition the network in a multi-controller scenario and on QoS aspects (C13, J10, J9, J8).

In the past I worked also on Call Admission Control (CAC) (C2, J4, J7), and Delay Tolerant Networking (DTN) on more theoretical aspects (J2, J6), as well as, applied to nanosatellite networks (J12, C7, C9). On mathematical side I am always interested on the Generalization of Knapsack Problem, Teletraffic Engineering, and in general Network Modelling.
